As we age we lose the bone mass which gives us structure, our fat pads start to atrophy and decrease in size which leads to volume loss,. Our ligaments, which were once tight bands, become loose and we use up our collagen and elastin that helps with a youthful appearance…..Ahhhhh Hell Reggie this is depressing!!!
The use of injectable fillers has become one of the most requested minimally invasive treatment options to re-volumize and aging face. FDA approved in 2003, Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide normally found in our connective tissue and is capable of binding over 1000 times its weight in water giving those cells their plump fullness which translates to rejuvenation on the face.
Replenishing volume loss with fillers can eliminate wrinkles, provide mid-face structure, plump and hydrate lips, get rid of tired eyes, as well as replace the bone loss in our lower face. Heck, it may help you find the partner of your dreams!! Or give you the confidence you need to grab your dream job.
Depending on where it is placed on the face and what product is used it can last up to 6 months, 1 year, and even up to 2 years. Our providers will go over that during your appointment. Downtime is anywhere from 3 days to a week with lips usually needing the most downtime. Swelling and bruising may occur although our expertise and injection technique helps reduce the severity.
